What is a Life Member?

Like most organizations, we tend to rely on a few people to do the work of many.  Much of the time the same people step up again and again to support us in the Old North State.

To qualify for Life Membership, you must be nominated by either the general membership or a society officer.  A simple email or letter describing why you think a member qualifies will suffice.  The board members will review it, and if accepted the Life Membership will be bestowed at the next URE!

Who can not receive a Life Membership.  Sitting Board Members, or Society officers can not receive the Life Member Designation while they are fulfilling any active leadership position. Once they have stopped serving in that capacity, they may be recommended for the honor.  It should be fair to note, serving as an officer or board member in no way implies that Life Membership is a certainty.

So as not to turn this in to a "thing," Life Memberships will be a rare thing. Life member will not pay dues, and if they want, will be included in all board and society officer discussions as a non-voting participant. Their wisdom and passion should not be lost to us.

A member of ten years, JJ has participated as a trail guide for every Uwharrie Safari the Old North State hosted, All of the URE! events, most often leading the most difficult trail rides.  Almost every banner, or sticker seen supporting the Uwharrie Safari until 2000 and URE! were developed or printed by JJ.  On several occasions JJ has kindly offered significant financial support to the society.  Through out the last ten years, JJ has been the quiet professional stepping in and helping with out fanfare.

He has proven time and time again that his passion and support  for Land Rover, North Carolina and the Old North State Land Rover Society is limitless.
